Things in the pipeline…

I am working on a few projects — forms and other items that can be downloaded and printed by 1e players and DM’s.   In no particular order…

  • Spell Cards.   Turns out cutting and pasting from a PDF requires a lot of hand-editing format.  This is taking me a LOT longer than I had anticipated.   But am still working on it, and they will be posted when finished,
  • Monster XP Sheet.   Enter name (optional), number killed, HP, HD and if it has special powers and it will do the calculations for kill experience.
  • Monster Treasure Generator using table from Monster Manual.
  • Deck of Many Things.  Many, many millenia ago, I made a hand-drawn set of these that I still have someplace.  Going to do a much nicer version for printout with front and back graphics.
  • Spell Book pages with covers.  Suitable to print out, hole-punch and put in a folder for an instant, permanent spell book for the Character.

Taking me some time, with the holiday season and having GROSSLY underestimated the time on the cards, but I will get to all the projects and they will get posted.

The AD&D 1e – Monster XP Calculator spreadsheet has been completed and tested. Written in Excel 2010, fields are protected to prevent accidental erasure of formulas. User editable fields (monster, #killed, HP, HD and special/exceptional ability) validate to prevent entering bad data such as letters where numbers go or decimal fractions. Enjoy!

AD&D 1e – Monster Treasure Type Generator, a spreadsheet that automates the Treasure Type table found in the Monster Manual (Appendix page 105), has been completed and uploaded.

Completed the Magic-User’s Spellbook, complete with front and back cover. Rolled it out to my local group at our saturday game. Now it is uploaded in PDF form.

Scratched off the Deck of Many Things. While looking around for images I could adapt to make a set, I stumbled across references to Dungeon Magazine #177. It contains a full set of all the cards mentioned in the DMG, with NICE front and back art custom drawn for the magazine. From the pictures I have seen, much better than any assemblage of images I could make in photoshop.

I am not going to bother reinventing the wheel, rather going to try to find this among my friends and other players and print out the relevant pages onto cardstock and laminate.
